Questions
Nov 4th, 2005

I've got questions for you all. I know at least two of you read this page! That ought to be a good representative sample size:

1. What kind of recipes should I be posting? What do you all want more of? I know I'm kind of falling into a rut. I was going to post balsamic glazed beet recipe I made and then I thought, good god, I'm sure I'm the only one around here who even eats beets. Why so many beet recipes?

2. I need to get this site its own domain name and move it off the Kafehaus Chat. I want to be able to give the link out without risking people finding our little gathering. So what should I call it? All the good food blog names are taken. 'Cooking Food that No-one Else Will Eat'? 'Curry and Beets'? Seriously, what should I name it?

3. What else should I add here - pictures? More cookbook reviews? More recipes? More long winded rambling? What works and what doesn't?

Thanks y'all, I really appreciate the feedback. And of course, if and when I do find this a new home, you all are welcome and encouraged to provide guest posts.

I like most everything you post, Kymm. If I were to make a list of the things I want more of, I'd say more rambling, and more cooking from the trenches of a working mom type stories (the ones that start with standing in front of the fridge needing to use the fennel). There's plenty of places to go for recipes, but you give a lot of ideas about what one might want to eat, and how to go from one meal to the next in an integrated but not necessarily pre-planned kind of way. and pictures would be great.

I check this page every day. I really like your writing style and enjoy the long winded rambling and recipies the most. I find pictures of tricky stages and end results to be helpful when trying a new cooking technique or ingredient. I like reading about your experience finding good ingredients, what turns you on and how it is to cook with little ones underfoot or with the pressures of a hungry family....I guess I like everything about this page.

Has anyone else tried honey crisp apples? They are my new favorite. As the name suggests, they are crispy and while they taste more like apples than honey to me, their flavor has some sweetness with just a little tart. I suspect the apples I have been getting are grown locally as they are not waxed.
